With the ValguLoc II Splint the Hallux valgus (bunion) angle can be adjusted to match the post-op position and adapted to the individual shape of the foot. The setting of the angle does not change during flexion and extension. Flexion and extension can be locked in a range of positions for post-op splinting and immobilization. The toe can be splinted in the post-operative period, then gradually allowed greater movement. The Bauerfeind ValguLoc II Bunion Splint has a slim, anatomical design which increases wearing comfort. If required, the thermoformable splint material can be reshaped to help prevent pressure points from forming. It relieves the metatarsophalangeal joint and can help achieve pain-free movement of the big toe if used in the early stages of hallux valgus (bunion). A multi-dimensional joint holds the toe at a predetermined angle at which extension and flexion are prevented or can be permitted gradually.
